Spatiotemporal analysis of photosynthetic indices to evaluate the effect on vegetation in the surroundings of a tungsten mine

Vegetation in a tungsten mine. Impact of mining activity on the surrounding vegetation.

In 2020 and 2021, two studies were carried out to identify the possible effects of the mining activity at the Saloro tungsten mine in Barruecopardo on the vegetation surrounding the mine. By studying long medium-resolution and short high-resolution satellite time series, the behaviour of the vegetation was analysed by observing the monthly evolution of some photosynthetic indices (NDVI, SAVI...).
